Workshop newmediastudies.nl
This website is run by students for students. In order to keep the website up to date we’ll need all the help we can get! In our hands-on workshop you can help improving this website, whether you have programming, writing, designing or organizing skills!
The workshop will be on friday the 8th of july, from 13.15 to 17.00h in room 1.06 at Drift 23 in Utrecht.
Newmediastudies.nl aims to let students and the rest of the world know what is going on in our master programme, to make explicit our academic, critical and nuanced view on new media as well as the network of students, teachers, alumni and professionals around us.
The hands-on workshop is divided into two groups:
1. The Techies & Designers, working on the programming and the design of the website. This group is led by Kevin Breed, lead programmer of newmediastudies.nl
2. The Editors, creating new and updating existing content and content formats, and streamlining the organization of the website. Also, the workings of the drupal cms will be explained in detail (e.g.: how to publish a magazine on the website). This group is led by Bas Bergervoet, current editor in chief at newmediastudies.nl.
Extra: Dennis Roberts (responsible for the awesome magazine illustrations) will propose a project, in which the best content of the website will be turned into a well-designed and digitally printed book. He needs volunteers!
Regarding the deadline for your papers on this very same day, we had first hand information that it is unlikely your teacher will examine them immediately in the weekend. So check with them if it is okay to deliver them on monday instead, and come to our workshop!
After our workshop, around 6pm (18.00h), another great NMDC event takes place: the Media of Tomorrow Meet & Greet, where you can talk to alumni’s and look for an interesting internship!

Sounds interesting. What
Sounds interesting. What exactly is the goal of the workshop? Is it's goal to just getting things done in that afternoon or is it intended as an introduction for a long-term co-operation? Thanks!
